World Health Day
We would like to start off World Health Day by paying tribute to the hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers who have been battling the pandemic tirelessly in the last year and continuing to do so now.
Your hard work and sacrifice have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. It is because of you and your efforts we are where we are now. You have helped millions of people and saved the day in the darkest of hours. We would not be where we are now without you. And while there is still lots of work to do, you have guided us towards the end of the tunnel.
April 7th has marked the celebration of World Health Day since 1950. This day aims to raise awareness for a specific health theme to highlight areas of concern from the World Health Organization. Each year a new concern is promoted and addressed bring awareness to issue such as mental health stigma, maternal and child care, and climate change in years past.
This year's World Health Day theme is Building a Fairer, Healthier World.
"As COVID-19 has highlighted, some people are able to live healthier lives and have better access to health services than others - entirely due to the conditions in which they are born, grow, live, work, and age."
